Metal Vs Plastic Cleats
Baseball Cleats are very important, they are what connects us to the ground. Baseball cleats come in many different styles and colors, but dont let that confuse you. If you already have a favorite brand for your regular athletic shoes, then chances are you will like the cleats from that same company. If you havent picked a favorite yet, Ill run through the major companies that youll see pro players using.
Another important decision that each player must make is whether to use metal or plastic spikes. Some leagues only allow plastic cleats which makes your decision easy, but if you have a choice i will run down a few pros and cons of each.
Metal Spikes give you the best grip to the ground. They are a little harder on your feet especially for infielders who stand on hard dirt the entire game. But you dont slide around. Most infielders, catchers, and pitchers use metal spikes because proper footing is very important.
Molded or Plastic Spikes- are more comfortable than metal spikes. The downfall is that you may slip a little more on dirt. However, the ground in the outfield is softer and plastic spikes work fine. The problem you may run into is the batters box could be hard and it may be slick with plastic spikes. In either case, try them out and make a decision which one is best for you.

How Do You Clean Baseball Cleats
Try to avoid wearing your cleats anywhere but on the field. First, knock your cleats together to loosen up the dirt and debris that might be caked on. Next, use a rag or brush and your preferred laundry detergent to scrub away soaked in stains. Use a wet rag to wash off the soap. Let them dry out completely before you wear them again.

Low-cut cleats are currently the most common because speed and agility are vital to varsity-level competition. Popular low-cut options are the New Balance 4040v5 and the adidas adiZero Afterburner. Some players like the feel of the extra ankle protection in a mid-cut design like the Nike Huarache Elite. Pitchers, however, should avoid mid-cut options since they require maximum ankle flexibility.

Whats The Difference Between Baseball Cleats And Football Cleats
Baseball cleats are designed to help players get the traction they need to dig into the field while batting, throwing, and running. Ultimately, cleats help provide better performance for players and are made with either metal or synthetic materials. Football cleats are designed to offer protection, provide durability, and enhance movement.
What Are The Benefits Of Low
Low-cut cleats offer players benefits like agility, lighter weight, and speed because they are often more aerodynamic and comfortable. That being said, mid-cut cleats offer players a little extra support and stability, especially in the ankle area. All in all, it comes down to personal preference and comfort.

How Do You Break In Baseball Cleats
Sometimes, baseball cleats need a little time to reach the perfect amount of comfort, but luckily, breaking in your new cleats doesnât have to be difficult. At New Balance, we recommend trying to use your cleats in small doses before you put them on for the first big game when wearing them. Use them when you practice on the field, take a jog in them on the field on non-game days, try to stretch and bend them into a V-shape for a few days to loosen them up.
