Mike Trout Unveils New Nike Signature Cleats
Mike Trout is one of the best baseball players on the planet. And even while hes on the disabled list, he is bringing some heat to the field with the release of the Nike Force Zoom Trout 4 cleats that he revealed on Instagram.
The time and dedication Nike put behind this cleat, and all the people that helped me build this, its unbelievable. I cant thank them enough, Trout said in his post.
Nike baseball added a post of the cleat and trainer that shows just how sick the design is.

Playing on Trouts last name, the bottom of the cleat is pretty spectacular giving a resemblance to a fish and its scales.
The fish-inspired theme continued with this signature colorway nicknamed Mahi, according to Nike.com.
For now, though, we wont be seeing Trout rock his fourth signature cleat on the field. The Los Angeles Angels center fielder has been on the disabled list since May 29 with a torn UCL in his left thumb.
But for baseballs sake, and so we can see these cleats in action, we hope to see the reigning American League MVP back on the field soon.
Mike Trout First Mlb Player Since Ken Griffey Jr To Get Nike Cleat
Mike Trout is in his own category as a player on the field, and now hes in elite company off of it.
Nike has created its first signature for a cleat for a player since they did with Ken Griffey Jr. The cleat is called the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout, and its part of an entire Vapor Collection of items/accessories.
The cleat, which is available as of June 20, was created with some of Trouts insights and is lightweight and designed for speed.
Via Nikes website:
The first signature cleat for star outfielder Mike Trout, the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout redefines the balance of speed and power in baseball and embodies the future direction of the game. Informed by Trouts own insights, the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout is designed for the directional speed needed to steal more bases, get to more balls in the outfield, and get out of the batters box quickly. Equipped with a durable, lightweight Nike Lunarlon foam midsole for comfort, the cleat features a split Pebax speed plate for ultra-responsive movement across the field. The midsole also informs a lively aesthetic that captures the spirit of Trouts game and Nike Vapor technology sleek, modern, athletic, and extremely fast.
In addition to the cleat, the Vapor Collection includes sliding tights, batting gloves, a sleeve, a cap and socks.
Below is a video of Trout talking about the cleat:

Force Zoom Trout 8 Pro Metal
For a more affordable option, Nike will offer the $85 Pro version with less expensive materials. Considering the unsightly prices of New Balance and adidas metal cleats lately, this cleat feels like a bargain. It has a similar, if not less streamlined look, including a midfoot stroud that is designed to keep dirt out.
I worry about the synthetic skin upper and how thatll look after a hard slidewill it ever look remotely white after game 1?
Same plate. Same Air unit in the heel. $45 less.

Reach New Heights In Nike Trout Baseball Cleats
Its difficult to overstate the accomplishments of superstar center fielder Mike Trout. Nicknamed the Millville Meteor to recognize his New Jersey hometown, Trout has soared to join the elite in the game and is often touted as a GOAT candidate. He is one of the games rare 5-tool players, consistently exhibiting excellence in hitting, hitting for power, running, fielding, and throwing. His signature line of Nike Trout baseball cleats includes models with metal spikes, studded TPU blades, and ribbed rubber outsoles for play on synthetic surfaces. Eastbay.com carries Nike Trout turf shoes in sizes for men and boys.
Force Trout 8 Pro Mcs
For those that need/prefer plastic bottoms, the Force Zoom Trout 8 Pro MCS is your solution, albeit with less tech than the first two cleats featured here.
This one is pretty much a different cleat, made with synthetic leather, without Air in the heel or forefoot, and a traditional upper. The product description describes a cockpit tongue designed to keep dirt out of the cleat.
The forefoot and heel are independent plates, which is something we see in the Huaraches. The MCS will retail for $70, almost half of what youll pay for the Elite version.
Shop the Trout 8 at Dicks for $40-$130, depending on trim level. What do you think?

Before this season began, the Los Angeles Angels star received a monster contract extension. Now, he has his own Nike cleat: the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout.
Update: July 15 at 6:35 p.m. ET
Mike Trout will be sporting a pair of cleats from his signature line for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game:
It’s probably safe to call this pair “Rainbow Trouts.” With the Midsummer Classic in Minnesota, aka the Land of 10,000 Lakes, it’s the perfect opportunity for Trout to bust out the cleats.
Here’s a look at the Rainbow Trouts in action:
–End of Update–
A shoe made for Trout needs to represent the player well. It should be quick, stylish and a little bit flashy. Most importantly, it should produce great results.

Nike explained how the shoe will help Trout’s performance on the field:
