There are over 100 radio station affiliates for the St. Louis Cardinals. The primary radio affiliate for the team is the KMOX 1120 station out of St. Louis, which covers over half of the state of Missouri.
Though the primary station is located and broadcast out of KMOX in St. Louis, there are smaller local affiliates in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Alabama and Kentucky as well as the Cardinals home state of Missouri. So KMOX, whose sports department had iconic broadcasters Jack Buck, Dan Kelly, Bob Costas, Bob Starr, Bill Wilkerson, Dan Dierdorf and Gary Bender on the roster in the 1970s when it was the self-anointed Sports Voice of America will have nobody devoting all their work time to sports until a replacement for Wheeler is hired.

The St. Louis Cardinals Radio Network is a United Statesradio network that broadcasts St. Louis Cardinals baseball. The network consists of 111 stations1 and six FM translators in nine states . Its flagship station is KMOX in St. Louis. Due to an earlier deal with KTRS/550, it is still a partial owner of that station although Cardinals games no longer air on KTRS .
As of the 2022 season, the broadcast team consists of play-by-play announcer John Rooney and color analyst Rick Horton. Mike Claiborne occasionally assists on play-by-play, while Tom Ackerman, Kevin Wheeler, and Joe Pott host the pre- and post-game shows.
St Louis Cardinals Exploring Options To Make Late
ST. LOUIS – With the MLB All-Star break now complete, the second half of the 2022 season is officially underway, and one team hoping to make a big second-half splash is the St. Louis Cardinals.
At this point, the Cardinals sit only a half-game out of first place in the NL Central, as they prepare to face the Cincinnati Reds in a three-game series beginning on Friday.
In an exclusive interview, 14 Sports spoke with Cardinals Insider Tom Ackerman, whos the sports director at KMOX radio in St. Louis.
Looking at the Cardinals schedule moving forward, Ackerman says the franchise should be in a solid position leading up to the postseason.
The second portion of the seasons actually very favorable for them schedule-wise, Ackerman said. About 70% of their opponents are losing records. They get to play games with a lot of built-in days off, so thats a nice thing for their rotation. They just need to be healthy in their rotation. They need pitchers that can go deep into games, put the ball in play, get outs and then let the bullpen finish from there.
One question mark haunting St. Louis is the pitchingrotation and the need for consistency. Ackerman told 14 Sports that while the Cardinals have reliable pitchers in Adam Wainwright and Miles Mikolas, taking advantage of the MLB trade deadline could be one wayto add to their rotation.

Bally Sports Midwest will again serve as the TV home for Cardinals games and coverage, with most games being broadcast on the regional sports network.
Coverage also will be available on the Bally Sports app and on Ballysports.com but fans must authenticate access by using their pay-TV service login.
During the games, Dan McLaughlin will do play-by-play, with Jim Edmonds and Brad Thompson joining as analysts. Jim Hayes, Scott Warmann and Alexa Datt will serve as reporters and hosts. Al Hrabosky and Ricky Horton will handle pre- and postgame analysis from the studio for Cardinals Live, along with Rick Ankiel, Edmonds and Thompson.
At this time, there are 11 games scheduled to be carried exclusively on national outlets:

- ESPN: 3
- Apple TV+: 3
Apple and Major League Baseball announced their partnership earlier this month, bringing games to fans exclusively through Apple TV+. Friday Night Baseball includes weekly doubleheader coverage of games on throughout the season.
The Cardinals games broadcast on Apple TV+ are scheduled for:
- May 20 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
- June 24 vs. Chicago Cubs*Schedule subject to change
Apple said in a news release dated March 8 that Friday Night Baseball would be available on Apple TV+ without a subscription for a limited time. Its not clear how long that offer is set to last.

How To Listen To The Cardinals On The Radio
KMOX 1120 AM will again be the flagship radio station, carrying every single regular season game. And nearly all of the Cardinals Radio Network stations which is the largest in the MLB with 147 stations across eight states also will broadcast all games.
Cardinals games also will be simulcast locally on 98.7 FM and streamed on KMOX.com.
The 2022 season will bring a big change for loyal listeners after Mike Shannon retired at the end of last season.
John Rooney will still be behind the mic, with Ricky Horton joining the radio team fulltime in the booth. Mike Claiborne will assist with broadcasts while Tom Ackerman, Kevin Wheeler and Joe Pott will serve as pre- and postgame hosts on KMOX.
How To Listen To The Cardinals In Spanish On The Radio
Once again, all regular home games will be broadcast in Spanish for fans to listen throughout the country.
Locally, the radio broadcasts will be on WIJR 880 AM La Tremenda. Theyll also be streamed via cardinals.com and the MLB app.
Play-by-play announcer Polo Ascencio and former MLB catcher Bengie Molina are back for their seventh season to provide coverage of the games in Spanish.
