The Alex Anthopoulos And Jos Bautista Era
In the off-season, the Jays’ ace Roy Halladay was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies for Kyle Drabek, Travis d’Arnaud, and Michael Taylor Taylor was immediately traded to the Oakland Athletics for Brett Wallace. The team’s significant free agent signings were that of catcher John Buck and shortstop Álex González.
The 2010 season was a surprising 10-win improvement over the last season. It was a career year for José Bautista, who hit 54 home runs, breaking George Bell‘s franchise record of 47. In doing so, he became the 26th player to reach 50 home runs and the first since Alex Rodriguez and Prince Fielder achieved the feat in 2007. The Blue Jays also set a franchise record for the most home runs in a single season as they hit 257, 13 more than their previous record of 244 set by the 2000 Blue Jays. The Blue Jays tied the 1996 Baltimore Orioles for the third-most home runs by a team in a single season. Seven players ” rel=”nofollow”> Aaron Hill, Adam Lind, Lyle Overbay, John Buck, and Edwin Encarnación) hit 20 home runs or more throughout the season, tying an MLB record previously set by four teams, including the 2000 Blue Jays.

In The Action Seats: A Great Deal For Those Looking To Save
If you want to save a little money, the In the Action seats are the best option. Nonetheless, youll be well-informed, and theyre still a good deal. The only drawback is that their view of the field is limited. VIP seats at HSBC Club are a great option if youre looking to be close to the action and dont want to get too far away from the action. The shoes are a little more expensive, but they are also a lot more comfortable.

Do The Toronto Blue Jays Sell Out
No, the Toronto Blue Jays do not sell out. They are a minor league team and do not have the popularity or demand to sell out their stadium. They do, however, have a strong and loyal fan base that supports the team.
Blue Jay announced on Saturday that they had traded their top infielder, Jordan Groshans, to the Miami Marlins in exchange for LHP Andrew Miller, OF Anthony Bass, and a player to be named later. There has never been a Spring Training game between the Blue Jay and a Major League team. Since 1977, the Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training facility has been based in Dunedin, Florida. The Blue Jay and Marlins have a long history of friendly rivalry, and the two teams have been affiliated since 1992. Blue Jay fans will get their first chance to see the team in action against the Miami Marlins during spring training. The Blue Jay have been a fixture in Florida for more than 40 years, and they will take on the Marlins in their first spring training game. The team is excited to play in Miami, as well as to participate in the annual Miami Derby.

Blue Jays’ George Springer: X
X-rays on Springer’s wrist were negative after he was hit by a pitch Friday in the eighth inning of Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series against Seattle, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Springer was plunked by an Andres Munoz pitch clocked at 97.9 mph. He was able to tough it out and finish the game, and no structural damage was done, but Springer’s status for Saturday is up in the air at the moment. If he’s limited as a result of swelling, the Blue Jays may have to turn to someone else in center field with their season on the line.
What Is A Dutch Auction
A Dutch Auction occurs automatically on Major League Baseball Auctions when a seller has multiple, identical items offered for sale. The seller specifies the minimum price and the number of items for sale. Bidders can then bid at or above the minimum price for the quantity of items they wish to purchase. At the close of the auction, all winning bidders purchase the items at the same price, which is the lowest successful Bid.

Aren’t All Jays Games Supposed To Be On Sportsnet
Throughout the 162-game regular season, the vast majority of games featuring the Toronto Blue Jays as the only MLB franchise in Canada air across the country on the various channels of Sportsnet, the Canadian sports broadcaster owned by Rogers Communications, as is the Blue Jays franchise itself.
This has been the case since the 2010 season, when Rogers bought back the remaining package of games that it had been selling to rival broadcaster TSN, in exchange for allowing TSN to air more non-Jays MLB games following which Sportsnet frequently promoted itself as offering every Jays game.
That said, MLB has always had the contractual ability to pull games away from local broadcasters to accommodate league-wide deals, regardless of team ownership. This is part of the reason why, for example, similar team-owned networks in the U.S., like the Yankees’ YES Network or the Red Sox’s NESN, have never carried all of their parent teams’ games.
But because American channels like ESPN, FS1, and TBS, as well as certain streaming services like Peacock, do not directly operate in Canada, those channels’ pacts with MLB in the rare cases that they do cover Blue Jays games do not affect the Jays games available on Sportsnet.
To be abundantly clear, Rogers, Sportsnet, and the Blue Jays organization have no influence over which games are selected for Friday Night Baseball. The selections are, to our knowledge, made solely by Apple subject to the terms of its contract with MLB.

Seattle Mariners Pull Out Wild 10
Alek Manoah gazed into his locker-room stall with a despondent look. Jordan Romano sat in his chair and slowly let out an expletive before untying his cleats.
An air of stunned resignation hung in the air Saturday night as the Toronto Blue Jays tried to absorb a wild-card series elimination none of them saw coming.
Armed with a seven-run lead and a boisterous sellout crowd, a Game 2 victory seemed to be in the bag when Toronto led Seattle 8-1 after five innings. But it fell apart in remarkable fashion as the Mariners used two four-run frames to tie the game before adding another run in the ninth inning for a 10-9 win.
“It was a heavyweight match that was just back and forth,” said Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen. “There were punches thrown all game. It was a tough one.”
Instead of planning for a decisive Game 3 on Sunday, it was a two-and-out playoff exit for the Blue Jays for the second time in three years.
“It’s really hard,” said Blue Jays slugger Teoscar Hernandez. “There’s nothing I can say that’s going to make me feel better for a while.”
Hernandez hit two homers to help power the Blue Jays to their big early lead. But Carlos Santana hit a three-run shot in the sixth inning and J.P. Crawford lifted a bases-loaded blooper in the eighth off Romano that brought the Mariners all the way back.
“That ball, two feet farther back it’s probably caught and two feet in and it’s caught,” Romano said. “But that’s baseball. Bounces don’t go your way all the time.”
