FAYETTEVILLE The average number of tickets scanned at University of Arkansas baseball games this season is higher than the 2019 regular season, the last time the Razorbacks allowed full capacity for an entire season.
Entering the final regular-season series against Vanderbilt this weekend, Arkansas is averaging 4,581 tickets scanned per game. Prior to the final regular-season series of 2019 against LSU, the Razorbacks were averaging 4,217 tickets scanned.
Scanned ticket figures were provided to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette through a Freedom of Information Act request. Announced attendance at Arkansas baseball games is for tickets sold.
The Razorbacks lead the NCAA with 318,481 tickets sold to 31 on-campus games this season.
A three-game Baum-Walker Stadium record of 34,796 tickets were sold to a series against Ole Miss two weeks ago. Actual attendance for that series, based on tickets scanned, was a season-high 22,829.
For home SEC games, Arkansas has scanned an average of 6,272 tickets, which is slightly lower than the 6,357 tickets scanned for the first 12 SEC home games of 2019.
Baum-Walker Stadiums capacity has expanded by more than 700 to 11,531 since the end of the 2019 season with the addition of premium and standing room-only areas. That means the percentage of 8,237 chair-back seats being occupied might be lower this season.

Tickets On Sale For Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE Tickets went on sale Tuesday for Arkansas baseball game against Central Arkansas in North Little Rock.
The April 26 game will be the Razorbacks first at Dickey-Stephens Park since 2019. Arkansas scheduled game there in 2020 was canceled with the rest of the college baseball season, and the Razorbacks did not schedule a game there last year due to covid-19 protocols.
Arkansas played at the ballpark each season from 2010-19. This years game will be the Razorbacks first there against an in-state opponent.
Tickets are on sale through the Arkansas Travelers ticket office and can be purchased at Travs.com. General-admission tickets including berm, bleacher and standing room are $15 reserved seats are $20 and box seats are $22.
Tickets to the game are also available by purchasing full season or mini-plan ticket packages for the Travelers, the Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
The April 26 game between the Razorbacks and Bears is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will not be televised or streamed. It will be the second of two meetings this season between the teams, who are also scheduled to play April 5 in Fayetteville.

Students Frustrated With New Hog Pen Ticket Policy
UA students are voicing their frustrations over a new university policy that requires students to pay to enter Razorback baseball home games and caps student attendance.
In years past, students only needed a UA ID card to enter the Hog Pen, a grassy seating area beyond the left field fence at Baum-Walker Stadium. In fall 2021, UA officials quietly revealed that a $100 Student Access Pass which also allows entry into football and mens basketball games is required to enter baseball games this season.
While some have bemoaned the universitys decision to charge students for entry, others most dislike having to request individual tickets weekly each Sunday, access pass holders must request tickets to games they wish to attend in the upcoming week and have criticized UA officials for limiting student attendance to just 1,500 per game.
Jonah Storey, a junior, thinks the universitys policy will likely become a headache for it going forward, he said.
If I paid for an access pass, I should not have to request tickets to every game, Storey said. The email to get tickets goes straight to the students folder so they dont even see the email to request tickets. The UofA created their own problem and now they have to deal with it.
Some students are less frustrated with the attendance cap than with the process by which they must request game tickets.
